My Family

Our family comprising of my husband,myself and 3 boys live on a 10 000 acre family owned grain/cattle property which is run in conjunction with 6 other properties in the Roma district. 3 boys aged 13yrs (boarding school in 2009), second son ((11)attends small one teacher school 13kms away from property, youngest son will be Year 1(2009)and is enrolled with Charleville SDE.
 

Wage

In Home Care Position

 

Schoolroom situation

The schoolroom is joined by verandah(which is able to be used for any school activities) to our guest cottage. It has phone,mains power and satelite internet connection. Seperate toilet and wash basin for schoolroom use.
Well resourced. The schoolroom is approx 50 metres from main homestead and 500 metres from Home Tutors accomodation Schoolroom has split-system air-con.\
 

Accommodation

The Home tutor's accomodation is aprox 500metres from schoolroom and main homestead. Roomy 3 bedroom furnished cottage with split system a/c. Phone can be connected - at home tutor's expense. Mains power . Carport and out door area. May have to share with backpackers at busy times.. Will have to provide linen. Morning tea will be provided during school week.

Job Description

This position is for the youngest son (Year 1). Boy has Aspergers syndrome, applicants with teaching qualificaions or special needs experiences are invited to apply. This position will be extremely challenging but will also be satisfying as well. ,The units of work for SDE will be modified to suit the childs ability and as such the home tutor must be willing to work as a team with SDE staff,speech pathologist and parents to provide a postive educating role. There will be no house work,cooking etc associated with the position. On occasions the home tutor may have to provide supervision of the two youngest children after school. There will be no weekend or holiday work and we would encourage the sucessful applicant to have a break away from the property and recharge. We also encourage any study the applicant would like to undertake and computer and internet would be available in consultation with us as to usage. As son has a great love for music , some musical experience would be good.
 Swimming coaching would also be of advantage.

As stated above teaching qualifcations or special needs are highly desirable . Skills associated with computer and music advantagous.
We have approx 15 kms of dirt but road is very rough and 4wd would be appropriate. We live in a small community which is based around a one-teacher school and hall. Tennis is played weekly and we encourage our staff to get out and mix socially within the community. The nearest service town in 110 km away and Roma is 210 kms to the south so being able to handle a degree of isolation would be advantegous.

My Family

My husband and I run the property. We have 3 boys and 1 baby girl, who enjoy participating in outside work when possible. In 2009 there will be 2 in the schoolroom Year 4 and Year 1. We have no permanent staff, we have backpackers stay and work for a few months at a time. Our children enjoy the company of others, and have gotten along well with our governess this year.

Schoolroom situation

The schoolroom is a large room built 2 years ago within the main house, but separated by a cement area. Fully air conditioned, reverse cycle. Lots of storage space, all childrens books kept in a library section of schoolroom. Phone connection in schoolroom. No computer in schoolroom at the moment, currently looking into it for next year, because of grade 1 papers.

 

Accommodation

The quarters are newly built about 80m from the house. 3 bedrooms & toilet upstairs, living area, laundry,shower and toilet downstairs. We can provide linen. The quarters are built inside the machinery shed at one end. TV provided. Kitchen has a gas stove, fridge and chest freezer, basic appliances and basic cutlery. The governess is expected to cook all meals for themselves. Phone connected for local calls and incoming calls. No mobile phone reception. Casual worker will be sharing accommodation

Job Description

School days start at approx 8 and go through till 3.30 - 4. with about an hour for lunch and half an hour for smoko. This is planned around on-air lessons. The governess is required to manage the day to day running of the schoolroom from preparing each days work, keeping up to date and having sports activities. The children help to keep schoolroom tidy, sweeping of floors and general tidiness is the governess's responsiblity, as well as returning schoolwork.

May be some childminding after school hours depending if I'm working away. There is no household duties assigned to governess but may be required sometimes to lend a hand if things are getting busy and if I'm working on property.

I would like to employ someone who has experience with governessing and preferably teaching boys. Someone who is willing to participate and organise activities that are outside the requirement of the Distance Ed program.

Job Description

Ths successful applicant will be required to manage the

looking for an experienced teacher who will be working with our eldest

My Family

We manage a cattle property for a large family owned private
company with a head office in Brisbane and several other properties and
feedlots throughout the state. We have lived here for nearly 2 years
and come from a very large property in the NT before that. We have
three boys, 4 yrs, 2 yrs and 4 mths. Oldest is starting Prep next year
and we would like someone to help out. There are 3 to 4 other permanent
staff living on the property as well as contractors and casuals at
various times.

Wage

As per the company Agreement, depending on age and experience and other duties that may be performed. starting at $110 per day with all food, accomm etc. Only have to pay for personal items and personal phone calls.

Schoolroom situation

School room will be a room in the managers house which was
built this year. Internet, phone, etc all connected. A/C and large
veranda to work on as well. The staff qtrs, workshop, etc are about
800m away from the house.

 

Accommodation

There are several optiond depending on your preference
and current staffing including own a/c room in staff qtrs, own a/c room
attached to staff kitchen or share house with one other. We can supply
bedding if required, all accomm have a TV, with Austar in the qtrs. All
food supplied and only have to pay for personal phone calls.

Job Description

Supervise lessons and manage the school room. School
day from 8am to 3pm then other jobs such as cooking, gardening etc and
generally helping out. School holidays can work in paddock if desired
or work around houses and gardens. We want someone who loves kids,
genuinely interested in helping with education, and who wants to be part
of our small station community and family.

Schoolroom situation Is a well lit room in the shearers quarters 120m from main house. Has internet and air con. Sink etc in ajoining laundry.
This year we did school in the house, so there is scope to set this new room up how you'd like it.
 
Accommodation Joins the shearing quarters. Has small carpeted bedroom with dbl bed & air con. Open kitchen with air con. and T.V. There is a phone line there which is the same no. as our house phone, but some mobile phs.( eg Nokia) get service but must be next g and not digital. Includes bathroom, and laundry is in qtrs. This kitchen is used for shearing time in January before school starts. Happy to email you some pics of these. No other employees, except on casual basis.
Job Description The number one prioroty for you will be to ensure our Yr1 boy has a positive and successful learning experience. Master 3 will also need to spend some time in the school room when he can not be included in the work we're doing.
Your day will start at 8 am with morning notices. and finish at 4.00. We'd like you to take responsibilty for the preparation and organisation of lessons and put in place a good routine. Also include sport and physical activity in that daily routine. There will be times when you will also need to organise smoko or lunch for yourselves in the house if we're out working.
There is a great range of things you would be able to help us with both in and out doors, and no 2 days are the same. However it would depend on what your interests are and how much you want to get involved. We aren't looking for a slave, but we don't want you to be bored or feel left out either. We would be happy to have an 8 week trial period then re-negociate job description and wages if need be.
