School room is in the house we live in. Phone and internet
available in school room and can be used out of school hours. House is
air-conditioned with fans as well. In winter we put an oil heater in the
school room and there is a combustion heater in the lounge which heats
the whole house.

You will have your own room in the house with a fan
provided. Bathroom, laundry, kitchen and lounge will be shared with
myself and my daugher. I can provide linen, but you can bring your own
if you wish. We will all eat together at dinner time. We have 24 hour
power. Phone and internet in the house available to you. You will be
required to do some cleaning. |

You will be responsible for the school room and
supervision of my daughter from 7:30am till about 5:30 5 days a week.
During shearing and crutching, I am required to work weekends,
therefore, you will need to be available as well. this is a full time
position with 4 weeks holiday a year. During the school holidays you
will be a nanny to my daughter as I will need to work. I am a single
parent working as a station hand on a sheep cattle station. I will get
my daughter ready in the mornings before work, including breakfast. You
will need to arrange your and her lunch. I will take care of dinner.
First aid certificate an advantage. Drivers licence an advantage purely
for your own personal life. I will drive us to Host School Days and
camps. When this is the case I will pay for the accomodation whilst
away. Weekends are your own, but if you are here I will do lunch and
dinner. Sunday nights we all fend for ourselves in the kitchen. You will
be required to help with the dishes.
You will sometimes have the oppurtunity to go out and about the station
with me when work suits. If you have a dog, you are welcome to bring it
with you, you must provide water bowl and food for it yourself and
ensure their vaccinations are update. |

My Family |
Billa Kalina Station is a family owned cattle property situated 2hrs
North
West of Roxby Downs in SA. Our two properties total 7000sq/km. We run a
mixture of cattle and sheep. Roxby Downs township has all the essential
needs ie hospital, supermarket, hairdressers, chemist and clothes shops.
The town has plane and bus travel to Adelaide.
We have 3 girls- year levels for 2009 will be yr 5, yr 3 and yr 1.
We have a swimming pool and tennis court, which may be used by staff on
request. Our mail is delivered twice weekly and on these days we can get
supplies from the local supermarket.

Schoolroom situation |
The schoolroom is a transportable house separate from the main
homestead. It contains 3 rooms (2 are schoolroom and the other the
governesses room).
The schoolroom is set up with childrens tables, teachers desk, storage
space, computer, wireless internet, phone, fridge, white board, wet
area, posters and lots more!

Accommodation |
The schoolroom is a transportable house separate from the main
homestead. It has accommodation for the governess, a bathroom and small
kitchenette. The accommodation has portable heating and
air-conditioning.
We employee a staff of about 4 others. The single staff (2 to 3) eat
with our family in the main house. When not working staff get their own
meals (food provided). A T.V room is provided and this has kitchen
facilities. A laundry is provided to do own washing. We have 24hr self
generated power on the property. |

Job Description |
School hours are between 8:30am and 3pm. The governess is expected to be
at the schoolroom by 8am to prepare and organise lessons for the day. A
morning recess break is at 10am for 20 minutes and lunch is from 12pm
for 1 hour. These times may change due to timetable lessons via the
internet.
The governess is expected to teach/supervise the children in the school
room between school hours or out of school hours by prior arrangement.
The governess is expected to attend school camps/host school days etc if
the children are going. After school the governess is expected to keep
the classroom clean and at the end of the week mop floors and clean
desks. |

Expectations and Requirements |
We are looking for a bright and well-educated person.
They need to be energetic, organised, tidy and willing to live with
others on our property.
A good repour with children and the ability to improvise with the
materials available is essential.

months. Station is in the Gawler Ranges, a 2 hour drive from two main
centres, Port Augusta and Whyalla. Family owned and operated property
,size is 850 square kilometers, running merino sheep, and cattle when
seasons permit. We have a healthy social district, with many social
gatherings/fundraising events, which we would encourage you to attend. |

generator. Governess will cook own meals, with the occasional meal

Job Description |
The governess is expected to run the day to day lessons as set by School
of the Air. Forwarding on schoolwork as required, reporting back to
SOTA, parents and teacher as needed. The school day will start each
morning with a School of the Air assembly on the computer, followed by
the lessons set out in each module,working to make it fun , educational
and happy for both student and governess. It is the governess’s
responsibility to keep the School room and accommodation clean and tidy.
School starts at 8.30am until 3.00pm, keeping in mind you will need to
allocate time for preparing each days lessons. School holiday’s and
weekend’s are at your leisure. |
