I2008 Governess- I have previously worked as a Governess at Minderoo Station, just out of Onslow in WA. Here I was teaching Kindy and Year 1. We did SOTA. I am very familiar with the system and I am very confident in my teaching abilities. If you wish to ring my previous employers please don't hesitate too. I absolutely LOVE children to pieces and eventually would like to become a teacher for SOTA (School of the Air). The thing that I found most rewarding was watching the children grow and learn. Child Care Worker- When I finished up at Minderoo I came back to Perth and worked at a child care centre called Buggles. Here I experienced all age groups from 6 month old babies to 10 year old children. I had an absolute blast, I was offered a Traineeship however I would prefer to be Governessing.

I am from Perth, WA. Growing up in the city and spending every holidays and spare moment at my grandparents cattle farm. I love being outdoors and helping about the farm or station, where ever I may be. I own a Thoroughbred gelding (Jake) and have a Golden Retriever puppy (Sam). I ride as often as I can and get to the occasional show. I am more than confident to lead ponies from the ground or from a horse. I am used to this as the last children that I was Governessing for had ponies which I used to help with. I like to be neat, tidy and organised. Being on time everyday. Before and after school I will usually give the classroom a quick tidy up and either sweep or vaccume. I like the children to be active and most of all enjoy life, enjoy school and where they are living. I am a fairly easy going person who gets along with just about everyone. Please don't hesitate to give me a ring. Either before 6.30am (Western Standard Time) or after 5.00pm (WST). I am more than happy to have a chat. :)- 9454 7305 or horsecrazy_01@hotmail.com

Write about where you come from and what you enjoy doing. Give them a clear picture of your family, pets and lifestyle. Write your hobbies and interests. The more information you give shows prospective employers that you're putting in an effort to get the job.I have grown up on a small property on the Mid North Coast of NSW, where I have currently got alpaccas and poultry. I have two brothers and a younger sister. My lifestyle consists of going out with freinds to the beach and camping, wile playing hockey on the weekend and working. I finished yr 12 last year and am currently undecided on what to do after school. I was interested in doing something with agriculture but am still unsure. This is why I have decided to be a governess next year and this should help me make up my mind as to if agriculture is my career. I love nature and wish to explore Australia more, hence also becoming a govie. I enjoy wide open spaces and freedom from the busy life. I will not mind isolation if that be the case. I am a very organised and very self motivated person, I believe there is no job to big or small to be done. I look forward from hearing from you soon, please dont hesitate to email me Lee |

Here are the current jobs I have been participating in. Others, which do not apply to the Governess position at all, include part-time work at Nando’s and junk mail distribution.
Babysitting – 2006 to present Over the last few years I have been taking babysitting jobs around the Brisbane area. This ranged from babysitting on holidays/weekends (nights, whole day, part day), after school (afternoons/nights). I would have the task of helping them with homework, helping with any household tasks etc., getting them organised for showers/bed, getting them to bed on time, organising and serving their meals, taking them out (on a whole/part day time) to the museum/art gallery/park/video store, supervising/participating in their play, etc.
May 2008 to present - Coles Myer I have worked for my local Coles Supermarket in Presentation during the past 7 months. This involves interacting with and dealing with customers, making sure all the stock is arranged nicely on the correct shelf and easy to reach, cleaning up any stock spills in the aisles.

I was born in Melbourne but moved to Brisbane at the age of 6 weeks when my parents returned to their home city. All of my childhood memories are of our house in the multicultural inner city suburb of West End. I have grown up with an appreciation of many aspects of Australian life. I come from a very large extended family on both sides, with relatives in most states of Australia. I have two brothers (20 yrs, 6 yrs) and one sister (14 yrs). When growing up, every holiday was spent going camping in some remote areas of Australia, or to a farm stay which I loved. My hobbies include reading, music, singing, dancing and sports. I have also been lucky enough to travel overseas to Turkey, South Africa and USA to experience life in other countries and cultures. Three of my four grandparents have roots in regional Australia. My mother’s parents met and married in Broken Hill. My father’s father was from a farming family on the Darling Downs. All of this has given me a great appreciation of what is it to be Australian, and how lucky we are to live in this country. I would love nothing more than to experience for myself life in the remote parts. I have very little skills when it comes to working on a farm / cattle station but am extremely willing to learn anything and everything that is involved with living in the Australia rural areas, helping out with all kinds of jobs, no matter what it takes. I am interested in a future of being involved in the rural areas in some way and so would like some experience. I love children. Gaining a younger brother at 11 years old has helped me to realise my admiration of children and understand them to a much greater degree. I love to find out how their unique brain works and helping them to use it so that they may learn and grow into a brighter, stronger person. I am very much a child at heart, able to easily sympathise with and play with younger children as if I was one of them except for my maturity and responsibility. I am a responsible, fun, self-motivated, optimistic, organised and loving young woman who thinks that the world is the limit. If you have any more questions, please don’t hesitate to email or call me. Claire

I come from Tasmania. I moved to Queensland in January to work as an au pair and will have been here for a year in December. I am the youngest of my family. I have one brother and one sister. I’m interested in reading, dance and music. I would like to live in a small town in the Outback for 6 months-year. If you live in a small town then I would like to work for a year. I like animals. It would be nice to see other animals on the property. My family used to have chickens which I liked. I got to raise a little orphan chicken, and it was sooo cute!! :) I'm interested in learning to ride a horse if you have one on your property and I can work in a roadhouse too. I don’t want to lie to your kids about Santa or anything else. I don’t like the fact that I worked as an Elf. I need to work for a family that’s okay with that. I must have one day off in 7 as well. If it sounds good then please give me an email asap.. |

I come from mixed heritage family in the sense that my mum is British and my dad is Australian. I was born in Echuca in Victoria and have spent most of life living on a small grain farm outside of town, except for four years where we lived in the UK. I have three younger brothers who are 15, 11 and 4, and am the eldest of my cousins by a considerable amount of both sides! We have a dog and a cat when it deigns to appear at the house! I have been at boarding school since year 7, as I didn't find the local high school very academically focused, and I enjoyed being stretched as a child, and still do! My younger brothers all still live at home, attending the local schools. I love travelling, reading, writing and currently do Pilates at school. I can play most sports, but poorly as I lack a little in the co-ordination department! I can cook fairly well as mum is a chef, and we've all been taught. I have tutored before at school with some of the younger students, and really enjoyed helping out so thought being a Governess would be a good experience! |

I attended boarding school so; I was continually looking after younger children who were home sick or having trouble settling in. I worked at the local vet clinic as a holiday job because of my love for animals. I have worked with younger children in coaching sports such as tennis, soccer, hockey and gymnastics. I worked close by with my Agriculture teacher at school to develop the show cattle team and help younger years get involved with the industry. I have babysitting experience, where I have looked after children ranging from the ages of 3yrs to 16yrs. I have also had leadership roles such as head of cattle at school and captain of sporting teams. Background information: |
|
|
I have grown up on a small property on the Mid North Coast. For the past three years I have been attending boarding school, as I wanted to further my level of education. I have been riding horses since I was quiet young. I play the violin so I have knowledge on how to read music and play. I have been showing cattle for a number of years and am currently head of Cattle at my school. My most recent results is from Sydney royal Easter show where I gained champion school steer in the carcase competition and a silver medal. I worked at the local vet clinic at home after school before attending boarding school, to gain more experience due to my great love for animals. I am an easy going person, who loves spending time with children. I am energetic and I love all sports. I always place 100% into everything I do and if I believe it’s not good enough I give more. I wont back down from a challenge that is handed to me and I will always find away to get the job done even if it seems impossible. I am looking for a family that I will be able to work with throughout the year of 2009 before I head to UNI to study in the field of Agriculture. I am looking for a position where I can governess and if need be also be of some help around the property. If you would like anymore information please don’t hesitate to email me. Ellyse |
